Notice Description

RFP - Provision of Pharmacy Services at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior Ontario

Queensway Carleton Hospital is posting this RFP on behalf of The Grove Arnprior and District Nursing Home. All inquiries and responses must be directed to the Primary RFP Contact Coordinator stated in the RFP Document.

The Grove Arnprior and District Nursing Home is a 61 bed long term care facility located in the town of Arnprior, Ontario which provides for the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual needs of its residents. We are committed to providing long term care services, in accordance with provincial legislation, community needs and current best practices. As a division of the Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital Corporation (ADMHC), we support the operational themes of partnership, leadership, teamwork, integrity and respect in all aspects of delivery of care to our residents. We value technology and presently use the web-based program Point Click Care for all of our resident documentation.

The Grove Nursing Home supports the initiatives of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) and the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) in relation to medication management systems. We believe that “Medication management is multi-faceted. There is a need to ensure that the drugs prescribed are appropriate for the residents, that medication reviews are effective, that instructions regarding medications are communicated accurately and that the right drugs are administered to the right people, in the right dose, at the right time.”* As we endeavor to meet this goal, we strive to implement best practices in relation to medication management and welcome the use of available technology to support our medication systems.

We are currently seeking a pharmacy services provider who will be responsible for provision of drug products for our residents as well as providing clinical and administrative pharmacy support to our facility. The initial contract will continue for a duration of three (3) years, renewable annually thereafter on the agreement of both parties.

The Grove is looking for a “Partner” in healthcare provision, in terms of creating a team approach that fosters ongoing communication, collaboration, implementation of best practices and use of technology to improve patient safety.

For more details see the RFP document.
