  PT-2011-RF-040 /Construction of Barrie Layover Yard Train Fuelling Facility

Construction of Barrie Layover Yard Train Fuelling Facility

Metrolinx is accepting Tenders for construction of a Train Fuelling Facility at the Barrie Layover. Major components to the facility include: an underground fuel storage tank; four train fuel dispensing cabinets; one bus fuel dispensing cabinet; fuel distribution piping; six plastic drip trays; and a pump house building.

A Mandatory Site Meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday September 8, 2011 at 280 Lakeshore Driver (Minet’s Point Road and Lakeshore Drive) Barrie Layover, Barrie, Ontario. Failure of Contractor to be present and registered from the time the meeting is called to order until the meeting is adjourned will result in disqualification from bidding.
Contractors must wear hard hats, safety boots, safety vests and safety glasses through out the site meeting(s). Failure to satisfy these requirements will result in exclusion from the site.

Each Tender must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $250,000.00 in the form of a bid bond or certified cheque payable to Metrolinx.
Sealed Tenders will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday October 6, 2011 at the same Procurement and Contract Services Office, and will be opened immediately upon closing. Bid information read out at the public opening will be available on Metrolinx’s website www.gotransit.com after 2:30 p.m. the following business day.

Only Contractors who possess the following experience and qualifications will be considered for award of this Contract:
•     Satisfactorily competed in the sole opinion of Metrolinx, a contract for work similar in scope and nature as “the Work of this Contract”; and
•    The physical and financial resources to sustain and complete the Work
Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all Tenders at its sole discretion.
