Notice Description

  PT-2013-BI-010: CONSTRUCTION OF UNION STATION BUS TERMINAL, CANOPY IMPROVEMENTS


Metrolinx is accepting Tenders for construction of the Union Station Bus Terminal Canopy Improvements, including but not limited to excavation, concrete, sewer drains, metal fabrications membrane roofing, glazing, painting, electrical, CCTV and carpentry.

A Mandatory Site Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Metrolinx’s Union Station Bus Terminal located at 141 Bay Street, Toronto, ON.

***Contractors are to meet at the ticket sales area located inside the Bus Terminal Building.***

Failure of Contractor to be present and registered from the time the meeting is called to order until the meeting is adjourned will result in disqualification from bidding.

Contractors must wear hard hats, safety boots, safety vests and have safety glasses with them at the site meeting(s). Failure to satisfy these requirements will result in exclusion from the site.

Each Tender must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of $50,000.00 in the form of a bid bond or certified cheque payable to Metrolinx.

Sealed Tenders will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Procurement and Contract Services Office located at 20 Bay Street, Suite 600, Toronto, ON, M5J 2W3, and will be opened immediately upon closing.

Bid information read out at the public opening will be available on Metrolinx’s website www.metrolinx.com after 2:30 p.m. the following business day.

Only Contractors who possess the following experience and qualifications will be considered for award of this Contract:

•satisfactorily completed in the sole opinion of Metrolinx, a contract for work similar in scope and nature as “the Work of this Contract”. The similar work shall include, but not be limited to, working in a similar environment, within a very busy municipal roadway, with heavy bus/vehicle and pedestrian movement.

•The Contractor shall supply reference in Appendix D of the Form of Tender that reflects the qualifications stated herein.

•the physical and financial resources to sustain and complete the work.

•A Contractors Occupational Health and Safety Plan and a program to implement the Occupational Health and Safety Plan that, in the sole opinion of Metrolinx, complies with all the requirements of the “Act”.

Metrolinx reserves the right to reject any or all Tenders at its sole discretion.
