Notice of Proposed Procurement (NPP) Abstract: Autonomous UAV Support

	The Government of Canada is now providing funding so that potential suppliers can access electronic documentation relating to federal opportunities on the Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS) free of charge. GETS supports the federal government’s sustainable development practices as it encourages moving procurement from a paper-based to an expanded electronic service.

TITLE: Autonomous Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) Support Services 2. SECURITY: All of the work is unclassified and the contractor will not have access to any classified information. 3. REQUIREMENT: The Department of National Defence, Defence Research and Development Canada - Suffield, (DRDC-S), AB, is exploring the deveolpment of intelligent mobility algorithms to facilitate collaboration between novel Unmanned Vehicles. The objective of this contract is to provide manufacturing, integration, and field support services during the development of an autonomous UAV system. The overarching contract will be a "Task Authorization" type contract. Callups will be created and negotiated on an "as required" basis from the date of award to March 31, 2010. To qualify, a bid will have to consist of no less than 80% of goods and/or services of Canadian origin. 4. MANDATORY CRITERIA: a) Personnel Staff with experience in the design and manufacture of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and components. b) Acceptance of PWGSC General Conditions and Resulting Contract Clauses contained in this solicitation. c) Provision of pricing as requested in Annex "B", Basis of Payment. 5. CONTRACTOR SELECTION: Contractor selection will be based on highest technically acceptable within budget. 6. ESTIMATED FUNDING: The estimated budget for this contract is $900,000.00, GST extra. 7. OWNERSHIP OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: Crown-owned. 8. PERIOD OF CONTRACT / REQUIRED DELIVERY: It is anticipated that any contract will be effective from date of Contract Award to March 31, 2010 This PWGSC office provides procurement services to the public in English. This contract may result in follow-up work. Delivery Date: Above-mentioned The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
