Take notice that, pursuant to Section 20 of the Forest Act, Timber Sale Licence TA1535 is being offered for sale by the BC Timber Sales Kootenay Business Area. Tenders will only be accepted from individuals or corporations registered as a BC Timber Sales enterprise in Category 1 and 2 under the BC Timber Sales Regulation.
Please note, this TSL is part of a pilot of the Forest Professional Oversight and Certification (FPOC) model being examined by BC Timber Sales as a method for ensuring that Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) commitments are achieved. As such, the successful bidder will be required to submit a conformance certificate that confirms that primary forest activities conducted under this TSL are consistent with the applicable FSP commitments. A sample of the conformance certificate and associated BC Timber Sales Advisory Bulletin have been included as attachments to this Notice.
All blocks were previously laid out as TSL A95554. Therefore field marking on the ground will be indicated as A95554 block 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 13, these are the equivalent block of TSL TA1535.

Licence Term: 20 months
Upset Stumpage Rate: $50.91/m³. The upset stumpage rate was determined in accordance with the Interior Appraisal Manual and applicable to coniferous sawlog grades.
The successful applicant will be required to implement and conform to the BC. Timber Sales Environmental Management System and this TSL also conforms to the standards of the following forest management certification system: Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
All individuals, corporations or partnerships who provide direction to workers or contractors who work or operate on TSL area(s) will be required to be certified as SAFE Companies, endorsed by the BC Forest Safety Council as new entrants, or certified under a safety certification scheme recognized by the BC Forest Safety Council or BC Timber Sales, or work for an employer that is so certified or endorsed.
