Description

The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth from time to time will seek expressions of interest from service providers for a range of professional services. At this time, the Municipality is inviting proposals for the delivery of legal services. The primary responsibilities of the Municipal Solicitor will be to represent the municipality in court / legal proceedings and provide advice and consultation to the Council and staff on:
• development and implementation of bylaws and policies,
• interpretation of provincial legislation and regulations,
• the acquisition, management, development and disposition of municipal property,
• contracts, tenders, and other procurement practices,
• formal and comprehensive review of all current legal agreements,
• human resource matters, and
• partnership and funding arrangement
