2021-028 - Baseline Data Collection and Surveillance Services

This Request for Supplier Qualifications (“RFSQ”) is an invitation by Sturgeon County (the “County”) to prospective respondents to qualify for eligibility to provide environmental baseline data collection and surveillance services.
There is a need to develop baseline data collection.
• The development of this data will enable and optimize environmental project design, sequencing, and implementation of the initiatives approved in the 2021 Capital and Operating Budget to support analysis and development of alternatives for Council deliberation and direction.
• Data collection, monitoring, and imagery can provide an accurate picture of status in real-time that will better inform data-driven decisions. Innovative projects including wetland rehabilitation, methane gas collection, and carbon sequestering farm practices can have a significant impact on the region’s GHG emissions.
• Methane emissions, 25% higher than carbon dioxide, exist in areas such as landfills that require accurate monitoring to inform developmental considerations. Advanced imagery and live video feeds can positively impact personnel and equipment response surrounding drainage and wildfire concerns reducing both emissions and cost expenditures.
