Former CCGS W.E. Ricker - Vessel Disposal

Summary Fisheries and Oceans Canada has a requirement to dispose of the former CCGS Ricker.

The Contractor will be required to prepare the ship for transfer, transfer the vessel to the Approved Site, and subsequently break (dismantle and dispose or recycle) the vessel in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner that is conforming to Canadian Laws and the terms of the contract.

NOTE: Ship Breaking is defined as the process of systematically scrapping the entire infrastructure of an obsolete vessel by dismantling and disposing or recycling of all its component parts and hazardous materials.

There is an optional Vessel Viewing & Bidders’ Conference associated with this requirement.

The requirement is subject to the provisions of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).

The requirement is subject to a preference for Canadian goods and/or services.

The Federal Contractors Program (FCP) for employment equity applies to this procurement; refer to Part 5 - Certifications and Additional Information, Part 7 - Resulting Contract Clauses and the annex titled Federal Contractors Program for Employment Equity - Certification.
