RFP LI TES 20200511 - Transition to Employment Calgary Youth

The purpose of the project is to provide services to eligible Alberta Youth (ages 18 – 24). Many Alberta youth are struggling to find employment in the current economic conditions which have been intensified due to the worldwide pandemic. When the labour market moves into recovery mode, there will be a need for ready, willing and able to work Albertans. Through the Transition to Employment Services program, eligible Clients will develop strategies to support their employment transition as well as obtain an understanding of transferability of skills from one sector to another. Clients may include youth needing employment support, short-term retraining and workforce adjustment.

Program components will include: Employment Placement and Supports; Job Matching; or Unpaid Work Exposure to assist in securing employment opportunities. Based on their employment goals and needs, Clients will receive services that may include job search techniques, interview skills, resume writing, assessing skill gaps, understanding transferable skills, identifying the hidden job market, researching new sectors, generating employment leads, and computer literacy related to job search. All clients will receive direct job placement.
