This document provides the basis for pre-selection of the butterfly valves and actuators. The equipment will be pre-selected and purchased by the Owner.
The anticipated project schedule follows, but is subject to change at the discretion of the Owner:
1. Pre-selection period ends, Owner selects preferred equipment and places order for Shop Drawings – August 29, 2020.
2. Delivery of Shop Drawings by preferred Supplier – September 12, 2020.
3. Detailed Design and Approvals – October 3, 2020.
4. Award of General Contract for installation of preselected equipment, including placement of order by General Contractor for the preselected Equipment – November 7, 2020.
Prior to award of the General Contract for the installation of the valves and actuators, the Purchase Order for shop drawings will be issued by the Owner. The Owner will purchase the selected valves and actuators which will be installed by the Contractor under the General Contract.
The purpose of receiving quotations in accordance with these documents is to permit examination of a variety of equipment on a comparable basis in order to select the equipment best fulfilling the Owner's requirements and to ensure that it is delivered on site at the appropriate time.
The procedure, in general, will be as follows:
.1 Receive and assess quotations for equipment. Request and receive additional information as necessary.
.2 Select equipment.
.3 Notify Supplier and conduct correspondence as required.
.4 Owner places Purchase Order for the shop drawings.
.5 Receive, review and return shop drawings.
.6 Complete Tender Documents and call for Tenders for General Contract.
.7 Award a General Contract.
.8 Owner issues Purchase Order for pre-selected equipment and is responsible for payment of the equipment per the Payment Schedule in the Form of Quotation. The Supplier is responsible for the supply, delivery, commissioning and guarantee of the equipment in accordance with the requirements of this Quotation, the subsequent correspondence, and the General Contract.
.9 The Contractor, under a separate contract (General Contract), will carry out or arrange for receiving/ storing and installation of the equipment under the terms of the General Contract.
