COL-20-114 - Public Safety Communication Centre (PSCC) Telephone Upgrade

The Lethbridge Public Safety Communications Centre (PSCC) was first amalgamated into a tri-service Center in 2004. In 2011 the PSCC moved to a new location and became a fully integrated tri-service centre with a common CAD for Police, Fire, and EMS. The PSCC is responsible for answering emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatching the necessary emergency resources to handle these situations. The agencies served are: Lethbridge Police Service (LPS), Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services, Alberta Health Services (AHS), 20 rural fire services, and peace officers for the County of Lethbridge and Ridge Regional Public Safety Services. The Lethbridge PSCC currently provides 9-1-1 services to approx. 165,000 people throughout the City and its surrounding communities across 20,000km/sq. Annually the PSCC makes and receives approx. 175,000 calls, of which approx. 50,000 are received as 9-1-1. The Lethbridge PSCC provides 9-1-1 back up services for the Red Deer Emergency Communications Centre PSAP, and receives back up services from the Foothills Regional Emergency Services Commission PSAP.
