Detailed Description
RFB to acquire the services of an experienced primary care licensed nurse practitioner to act as the Nurse Practitioner representative on the Northern Health Travel Grant (NHTG) Medical Appeals Committee. These services will also be required to support the development and implementation of primary care reforms aligned with Ontario's health system transformation agenda.
Scope of Work
The Ministry of Health (the “ministry”) requires the services of an experienced primary care licensed nurse practitioner to act as the Nurse Practitioner representative on the Northern Health Travel Grant (NHTG) Medical Appeals Committee. The Medical Appeals Committee is comprised of two clinicians as well as a northern Ontario resident familiar with local context and geography. The Medical Appeals Committee was established in October 2014 to respond to concerns regarding transparency raised by the Ontario Ombudsman’s Office.

To fulfil provisions within legislation, branch and divisional mandates, this position is also required to provide advice and recommendations to the ministry to aid in administering primary health care services to Ontario residents, for research and advise on clinical, medical and technical implications with respect to the implementation of new provincial strategies and initiatives within primary health care.

Services will be required immediately upon the award of contract.
