BRAED2020-02 - Value Added Agriculture Investor Attraction

BRAED was established in 2001 and incorporated as a not-for-profit company in August 2002. The Battle River region has a population of over 60,000 residents. As an economic development
organization, BRAED’s main source of revenue is from annual membership fees and government and

In earlier phases of the BRAED Value-added Agriculture Initiative three broad categories of opportunities having high potential for the BRAED region.
1. Plant-based protein opportunities
2. Milling and fractionation of peas, fababeans and other pulses
3. Canola-related opportunities

This phase of BRAED ‘s initiative, Developing the Value Proposition, will result in three value-added agriculture value-propositions for the BRAED region which will include individual community opportunity prospectuses. These regional value-propositions will be investor-ready and will become part of BRAED’s regional investment attraction tool kit. Each BRAED member community will have the opportunity to identify their preferred investment opportunity. This community-identified opportunity will be developed as a robust opportunity prospectus which will become an addendum to the applicable regionally based value proposition. These documents will be concise, fact-driven and draw from work previously completed. The prospectuses should be in a format which is investor ready.
