LT-TVT-0920 - Notice of Intent to Limited Tendering (1 (One) 250kW tetrode vacuum tube)

Notice is hereby given by TRIUMF of its intent to contract with Richardson Electronics Canada, Ltd.  The contract will not exceed $110,000 USD and will include 1 (One) 250kW tetrode vacuum tube delivered by July 2021.

The purpose of this contract is to provide expert services to achieve the following objectives:
 Deliver a 4CW250,000B water‐cooled high‐power tetrode vacuum tube as a spare part of the main RF amplifier of 520 MeV cyclotron.
TRIUMF has chosen not to tender the contemplated contract for the following reasons:
 The protection of patents, copyrights, or other exclusive rights.
 The supply of goods or services is controlled by a supplier that is a statutory monopoly.
 To ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative.

Those wishing to object to the decision must contact Nan Ma, by email on or before 2:00 pm Pacific Time on October 1, 2020.  presenting in writing specific reasons for their objection. The service provider's qualifications and ability to provide the same level of service at a lower cost within the required time frame will be the key criteria with regard to the consideration of the service providers' objections.
