This project will address the erosion and slumpage concerns on the Long Island of Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park in front of the comfort cabins, tipis and north viewing dock. Different techniques will be used to control erosion on the banks in front of the comfort cabins and tipis. Additionally, this project will involve paving of a walking trail from the tipis to the north viewing dock, as well as the construction on a paved path on the opposite side of the access road.
Work of this Contract comprises the following:
.1 General Work:
i. Mobilization and demobilization
.2 Live staking by hand of 25-50 mm in diameter and 600-1800mm Long willows in designated areas.
.3 Installation of Erosion and sediment control measures including filtrexx bio-socks, waterbar feature and rip-rap where designated.
.4 Removal of 3 large hazardous trees and replanting of trees similar in height
.5 Regrading of existing trails and paving of new and existing trails.
.6 Planting of trees and shrubs according to plant schedule and planted in accordance to the details included on the detail sheet of the site drawings (L2.01).
