Description

Invitations are requested for proposals from service companies to provide Transportation and Disposal Services for post-consumer pharmaceutical products generated in the British Columbia Medications Return Program (BCMRP) to the Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) for a period of three (3) years, with a potential option of up to an additional three (3) years or any portion thereof.

Proposal can include any one or a combination of the following service sectors:

Pick, pack and ship of clean containers in all or some of the four (4) defined zones within British Columbia (Schedule D);
Waste collection from generators (pharmacies) and transportation to consolidation locations;
Warehousing of consolidated waste, cleaning of containers and final disposal services for waste generated in all of some of the four (4) defined zones within British Columbia (Schedule D).

The objective of this RFP is to award to financially competitive contractors with the proven capacity and flexibility of personnel, equipment, and technologies to meet, and improve the level of service requirements of HPSA. HPSA reserves the right to multi-award to more than one contractor if that meets the best interests of HPSA.

All interested contractors must hold the required licenses and permits in British Columbia. Specifically, for this RFP, contractors must also meet the relevant requirements set out in the ‘Post-Consumer Pharmaceutical Stewardship Association’s Product Stewardship Plan’ as originally approved by the Ministry of Environment as of March 29, 2007, and any amendments thereto as approved by the Ministry of Environment.
