Description

Invitations are requested for proposals from service companies to provide Transportation and Disposal Services for post-consumer pharmaceutical and sharp waste generated in the Ontario Medications Return Program (OMRP) and the Ontario Sharps Collection Program (OSCP) to the Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) for a period of three (3) years, with a potential option of up to an additional three (3) years or any portion thereof.

Proposal can include any of the following service sectors:

Pick, pack and ship of clean containers in nine (9) defined districts within Ontario (Schedule D);
Waste collection from generators (pharmacies) and transportation to consolidation locations;
Warehousing of consolidated waste, cleaning of containers and final disposal services for waste generated in nine (9) defined districts within Ontario (Schedule D).

The objective of this RFP is to award to financially competitive contractors with the proven capacity and flexibility of personnel, equipment, and technologies to meet, and improve, the level of service requirements of HPSA. HPSA reserves the right to multi-award to more than one contractor if that meets the best interests of HPSA.

All interested contractors must hold the required licenses and permits in Ontario. Specifically for this RFP, contractors must also meet the requirements of section 6.2 of the Ontario Regulation 298/12 (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/120298).
