Description of Requirements & Deliverables
A substantial portion of the work would involve Radon Testing and/or Mitigation for BC Housing’s umbrella of portfolios. The testing and mitigation shall be performed by C-NRPP certified testing and mitigation professionals.

In accordance with Health Canada guidelines we will require long term testing which follows the testing protocol set out in Health Canada Guidelines. Long term testing would range anywhere from 91-365 days. Testing should be performed in the winter months when doors and windows are typically closed and there is more potential for indoor radon levels to build up.

Minimum testing periods would be 91 days. Upon completion results are to be sent to BC Housing with building tenants being provided with results within 5 months of initial testing.

BC Housing plans to test all PRHC owned and leased buildings in various regions of the province.

Testing is to begin in phases, which will be considered at a later date.

In the event when radon levels are above 200 Bq/m3, one or more of the following measures may be needed:

Increasing Air Exchange and Ventilation
Sealing cracks in the foundation and openings around pipes, drains and at the foundation edges.
Installing an Active Sub-Slab Depressurization System (ASD)
Radon Concentration Recommended Remedial Action Times:

Upon completion of radon mitigation system, a Radon Mitigation Professional will have to re-test the building to ensure levels are below 200 Bq/m3.

Respondents are asked to submit their information no later than Tuesday 04 September 2018 @ 2:00 P.M. PST to the following email address:

Submissions should include a completed and signed Respondent Submission Form (Appendix A) that acknowledges, among other things, that this EOI and any respondent submissions shall not create a legal relationship or obligation regarding the procurement of any good or service. In addition, submissions should include completed information under Appendix B and Appendix C.
