Tenders received by the time and date specified above shall be published by MERX as soon as possible after that time. Such publication does not imply any decision by the City as to whether a Tender is irregular.
The three low bidders must complete and submit the Schedule of Prices to the Contracting Authority via email within 24 hours of
Tender close.
To further the City of Ottawa’s commitment to health and safety best practices and pursuant to the technical bulletin ISTB-2020-01 dated 10 January 2020, the City will be phasing in Occupation Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) requirements in construction contracts as of the following dates:
• January 1, 2024 – for all construction contracts valued over $10 million
• January 1, 2026 – for all construction contracts valued over $1 million
• January 1, 2027 – for all construction contracts and subcontracts valued over $100 thousand (value to be reviewed over time)
The City will accept the following OHSMS on the basis they have been independently certified and audited. Due to ongoing transition processes, the following list is subject to change and will be updated prior to implementation:
• ISO 45001:2018: Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use
• CSA Z45001-19: Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements with guidance for use
• BS OHSAS 18001: 2007: Occupational health and safety management system – Requirements transitioning to BS OHSAS 45001:2008 by Jan 1, 2023
• IHSA COR™ – IHSA Certificate of Recognition-Health and Safety Management System-Standard
