The City of Ottawa, hereinafter referred to as the City, is seeking qualification submissions to provide professional engineering services to carry out design and contract administration services for the City Center and Elm Street West Integrated Road, Sewer and Watermain Rehabilitation.
Project Title: City Center Ave. and Elm St. West Integrated Sewer, Watermain, and Road Rehabilitation
Limits: City Centre Avenue between Albert Street and Elm Street, and Elm Street between City Centre Avenue and Preston Street.
General Project Description:
The objective of the project is to provide for the design and rehabilitation of the aging combined sewer and watermains in in City Centre Ave between Albert St and Elm St W (180m), as well as in Elm St W, between City Centre Ave and Preston St (240m). The sanitary sewer laterals and watermain services will be replaced to the property line within these limits. The road will require full reconstruction within these limits including curbs and sidewalks where applicable.
Background Work Completed to Date:
This project has been initiated to replace the existing infrastructure assets in City Centre Ave and Elm St. W. Design and construct a new combined sewer. Remove and replace the existing combined sewer and all existing lateral services to the property line. Remove and replace the existing watermain and the corresponding services to the property line.
The project site is located in an urban area involving various stakeholders including the area residents, local businesses, community and business associations as well as the ward Councillor’s office.
The project is in Ward 14 – Somerset, Catherine McKenny is the Ward Councillor.
