The Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA) is a multi‐stakeholder alliance composed of representatives
selected by industry, government, and non‐government organizations to provide strategies to assess
and improve air quality for Albertans, using a collaborative consensus process. CASA provides a forum
for stakeholders to clarify air quality issues, explore each other’s interests, propose, test, and evaluate

CASA is requesting a contractor undertake research and provide a report pertaining to new information (2013 - present) on the health and ecological effects of electrical generation to aid the 2018 five-year review of the 2003 Emissions Management Framework for the Alberta Electricity Sector. Specifically, the contractor will survey and document new information, studies, and reports related to:
- Any substances known to be emitted into the air from electricity generation using various resource types (e.g. coal, natural gas, wind, biomass, solar, fuel oil, etc.) from power plants (not limited to stack emissions); and
- Public health and ecological impacts associated with these substances, particularly when emitted by coal-fired and gas-fired power plants.
