202852 - Emergency Drinking Water Distribution Plan

EPCOR’s sole water supply source is the North Saskatchewan River. While capacity and allocation of the river is not in long-term doubt, there are a number of force majeure events that pose a risk to the water supply. In EPCOR’s over 125 year history, there has never been a supply issue that could not be managed outside of using a combination of storage and the current demand management measures to reduce water demand. However, the engineering and planning mechanisms that ensure resiliency during normal operation are not guaranteed when an emergency event occurs. 

To prepare for any event that may cause the destruction, impairment or contamination of the municipal water supply system, EPCOR recently developed an emergency drinking water distribution plan.
