Harpoon Bridge, Millertown Area, existing 90’ steel structure to be removed/de-launched,
existing decking and running surface to be cut into 10' sections upon removal, salvaged, and
transported back to the Millertown office. This will not be considered an additional cost and is to
be included in the bid price for the bridge removal. Old wooden abutments to be removed and
properly disposed of outside the 30m No Grub Zone.
New bin wall abutments to be assembled, installed, and back filled as per manufacturer’s spec.
All bin wall components are located at the Forestry Depot in Pynn’s Brook. All components will
need to be picked up at the Depot and delivered to site by the successful contractor. This is not
considered an additional cost and is to be included in the bid price for the bridge installation.
10’ of bridge to be removed from existing 90ft structure & additional 40’ of steel panel bridge to
be assembled and installed (20’ on each end) comprised of high sheer panels as per
manufacturer’s spec. The components for the additional 40’ of bridge will need to be picked up
at the Forestry Depot in Pynn’s Brook and transported to site. This will not be considered an
additional cost and is to be included in the bid price for the bridge installation
If launch nose is used, it must to be assembled as per manufacturer’s spec and drawings and
used to launch 120’ steel panel bridge in place. All launch nose components and rollers used for
the launch are located at the Forestry Depot in Pynn’s Brook. This will need to be picked up by
the Contractor and transported to site. This will not be considered an additional cost and is to be
included in the bid price for the bridge installation.
If the Contractor decides to de-launch/launch the bridge with a crane, it is the Contractor's
responsibility to contact the bridge manufacturer and develop a crane assisted de-launch/launch
plan. This will be at the Contractor's expense and will not be considered an additional cost to
the contract
