This procurement supports the implementation of a pilot nurse practitioner (NP) funding model which will provide public funding for NPs delivering insured, medically necessary services to patients outside Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services provincial health authority. This funding model aims to improve access to primary care, particularly for unattached patients, and to reduce demand on emergency and hospital-based services.
