The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, on behalf of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (“the Province”), is seeking qualified Food Service Providers (FSPs) to prepare and deliver the Newfoundland and Labrador School Lunch Program (‘the program”) at the schools identified in Appendix F. The program operates under a Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) model, designed to ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals during the school day in an inclusive and non-stigmatizing manner. The program includes the preparation and distribution of lunches. Unless otherwise specified, menus will be supplied by the Province and accessed through the provincial school food ordering system. The standard price per meal is $6.00, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the Province and the Food Service Provider. The Province will be responsible for collecting payments. Approved vendors will be reimbursed in full at the agreed upon price per meal for all meals that are ordered and delivered. Licensed food service vendors will be contracted to provide daily lunch services to designated schools under a Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) model. This model is designed to ensure equitable access to nutritious meals for all students, regardless of their family's financial circumstances, in a manner that is inclusive and non-stigmatizing. This solicitation seeks to establish Agreements to service 47 schools, presented in Appendix F. Prospective Proponents may may to propose to service one school, some of the schools, or all of the schools. Each school will be awarded separately.
