Bethania PCH Main Elevator Mechanical Upgrade
Bethania Mennonite, Personal Care Home, is located at 1045 Concordia Avenue, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is a facility that houses 148 residents distributed in seven wings. The building is only one story high.
Laundry, administrative offices, storage rooms, and the main mechanical room are located in the basement. An elevator and a couple of stairwells connect the basement with the main floor. Hence this elevator serves only two storeys.
This elevator was manufactured and installed by Dover Elevators in 1988. It has a hybrid type of controls that combined solid-state cards with older style mechanical relays.
The elevator jack is not encapsulated in PVC.
This project should include the following:

- Replacement of all the hydraulic components of the system as follows:

- Motor
- Hydraulic pump
- oil tank
- Replacement of the control system with an up to date electronic mechanism.

- Encase the elevator jack with PVD as per code.
- Dispose of all the old machinery
Location: The elevator is located at 1045 Concordia Avenue, Winnipeg MB R2K 3S7
Work Area: The work will have to be conducted in the elevator machinery room, located in the basement of the building. This room is 69” by 64”, which means 30 sq. Ft. approximately.
Budget: The estimated budget for the project is $110,000
Type of Contract: The agreement between Consultant and the Owner should be done as per the Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Prime Consultant for projects funded by Manitoba Health, December 1991, Revised October 2004
The time frame and project completion date: It is expected that the project will take no more than three months to complete. The completion date of it is March 15th, 2021.
