Frontier Collegiate: Conversion of Bus Repair Garage into Welding Shop:
Affected area of existing School: ±303 m2 (±3,250 ft2).
Conversion includes mechanical revisions and upgrades to support the Owner supplying and installing new welding booths and equipment into an existing fire rated space. Structural adjustments to the existing ceiling/mezzanine and exterior walls are also required to accommodate the mechanical upgrades.
The existing bus garage that is being converted, along with adjacent classroom and support facilities, are conditioned spaces within a larger existing former airplane hangar that is unconditioned space currently being used for other school shop activities.
