D3.          SCOPE OF WORK

D3.1        The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of:
(a)   Pavement Rehabilitation
(i)     Hartford Av – McGregor St/Main St
(ii)     Sanford St – Sargent Av/Wellington Av
(iii)     Yarwood Av – Garfield St N/East End
(b)   Asphalt Alley Reconstruction
(i)     Langside St/Young St Alley – Young St/Sargent Av
(ii)     Ruby St/Lenore St Alley – Westminster Av/Preston Av
(c)    Sidewalk Reconstruction
(i)     Linwood St – Portage Av/Ness Av – West Side
(ii)     Rupertsland Av – Aikins St/Main St – North & South Sides
(d)   Neighbourhood Greenways
(i)     Linwood St – Portage Av/Silver Av and Portage Av – Overdale St to Linwood St
(ii)     Powers St and Burrows Av Intersection
(e)   Water and Waste Work
(i)     Hartford Av
(ii)     Sanford St
(iii)     Yarwood Av

D3.2        The major components of the Work are as follows:
(a)   Pavement Rehabilitation
(i)     Installation of new catch pits/catch basins and sewer service/drainage connection pipe
(ii)     Renewal of miscellaneous pavement slabs (150 mm reinforced concrete pavement for Hartford 
Av and Yarwood Av, and 200 mm reinforced concrete pavement for Sanford St)
(iii)     Renewal of existing curb
(iv)     Construction of modified barrier curb
(v)     Renewal of existing sidewalks c/w detectable warning tiles if required
(vi)     Adjustment of catch basins and manholes
(vii)     Planing of existing asphalt pavement
(viii)     Installation of pavement repair fabric at various locations
(ix)     Placement of asphalt overlay
(x)     Boulevard restoration
(b)   Asphalt Alley Reconstruction
(i)     Installation of new catch basins
(ii)     Adjustment of catch basins and manholes
(iii)     Removal of existing concrete pavement
(iv)     Placement of asphalt pavement (50mm Type IA and 75mm Type III)
(v)     Construction of tie-ins to private approaches
(vi)     Boulevard restoration
(c)    Sidewalk Reconstruction
(i)     Removal of existing sidewalk
(ii)     Construction of new sidewalk
(iii)     Boulevard restoration
(d)   Neighbourhood Greenways
(i)     Installation of speed humps (Linwood St)
(ii)     Removal of existing sidewalk and construction of new sidewalk c/w blockouts and paving 
band (Portage Av)
(iii)     Construction of concrete median (Powers St and Burrows St intersection)
(iv)     Boulevard restoration
(e)   Water and Waste Work
(i)     External point repairs to existing sewer mains
(ii)     Replacement of manholes
(iii)     Replacement of manhole risers
(iv)     Replacement of 300 mm land drainage sewer (Yarwood Ave)
