SCOPE OF THE WORK
The Work shall consist in the supply of all that is required to excavate trench, install approximately 2000 metres of concrete encased ductline, install 1250kcmil CU 69kV cable in ductline, design, supply and install three (3) 69kV joint bays and associated restoration, all in accordance with Manitoba Hydro Request for Quotation 040632. Manitoba Hydro personnel will perform the splicing and termination of the 69kV cable as well as coordinate and perform the cutover from the overhead to underground feeders.
This description of the Scope of Work is provided only as a general overview. Refer to the balance of the tender for more detailed information concerning the Work.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Work shall commence on or about mid-to-late September 2017 and be completed by November 30, 2017.
In carrying out the Work, the Contractor shall have reasonable latitude to organize the sequence of the Work, provided that the various stages of the Work are completed by the specified date(s) or the date(s) proposed by the Contractor and accepted by the Purchaser.
SITE LOCATION AND ACCESS
The site of the Work shall be within the City of Winnipeg, located adjacent to Grant Park Walmart Supercentre (1000 Taylor Ave) and Sobeys (1150 Taylor Avenue), and south of the CN Rail tracks to Asquith Avenue. Refer to Purchaser’s Drawings accompanying Request for Quotation 040632.

SITE EXAMINATION
Before tendering, the Tenderer shall be deemed to have made a careful examination of the Site to satisfy itself as to the working conditions, the nature and extent of the Work, risks associated therewith, the obstacles or difficulties that may be encountered, and any other matters and things necessary to a proper understanding of the Work, the Site, and the conditions under which the Contract and/or the Work will be performed.
The alignment of the ductline and location of the three (3) joint bays will be staked (anticipated completion: by end of August) for the Tenderer’s convenience in bidding. The Tenderer has also been provided with elevations concurrent with the location of the ductline (north of the CN Rail tracks) and joint bays in order for the Tenderer to determine excavation depths. Ductline south of the CN Rail tracks shall be installed in accordance with Trench Detail E-E of Purchaser Drawing 1-04702-DE-500000-1028 sheet 3 of 3.
The Tenderer shall be solely responsible for any errors, omissions or misunderstandings resulting from the Tenderer’s failure to make a thorough examination of the Site and obtain such information.
