The Rural Municipality of De Salaberry is accepting proposals for the provision of waste pickup services in the R.M. of De Salaberry to serve both the districts of St. Malo and Otterburne.
The proposal will be for a period of 1 year starting January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2026. The contract may be extended for another term of 3 years (2027-2029) upon mutual agreement by both parties. The Contractor is to provide a detailed yearly fee schedule and has the option of including escalating rates for each year as part of the proposal.
The Contractor is to provide services with a garbage truck that has the capabilities to use dumpsters. The Contractor is to supply the various sizes of commercial dumpsters as part of their proposal.
The residential areas are currently manually picked up. The Contractor may provide a bid for manual pickup or suggest an alternative method of pickup and related costs.
The Rural Municipality of De Salaberry invites one all-inclusive quotation for:
Waste Collection Services to the Otterburne Collection District
and
Waste Collection Services to the St. Malo Collection District
The service to be provided under this Contract shall consist of the weekly residential waste collection to all residents and cottages and twice weekly waste collection to all commercial enterprises as listed in the most recent copy of the St. Malo and Otterburne Garbage Collection schedules and maps, attached. The service is to be provided by a garbage truck with the ability to utilize dumpsters. Commercial enterprises with large volumes of waste must be supplied with the proper sized dumpsters as per the Contract.
Currently, the residential areas are manually picked up. The Contractor may provide a bid for manual pickup or suggest an alternative method of pickup and related costs.
The scheduling of the collection routes should follow the current schedule. Arrangements to modify this schedule must be negotiated with the municipality prior to change.
- The Otterburne/Rat River Road schedule is: Mondays – Residential & Commercial
- The St. Malo schedule is: Mondays – Residential & Commercial
During the duration of this Contract new areas for pickup may be added to the contract upon mutual agreement of both parties.
