Description

The Mackenzie Middle School 1959 and 1962 two storey wing has a footprint of
approximately 10,400 sq. ft and a total building area of approximately 20,800 sq. ft. This
infrastructure renewal project will be delivered through a Design-Bid-Build method and is
outlined as follows:

A complete roof replacement with new 2 ply mod-bit insulated roof assembly.
An exterior wall refurbishment that includes new exterior finishes, new thermal assemblies, and new windows. The existing masonry back-up walls will be retained where feasible to do so. Interior finishes and millwork will be addressed where impacted by the project (typically within 2’ of the exterior wall).
A foundation upgrade that includes excavation to the depth of perimeter grad beams, new building envelope and new drainage piping and aggregate. The exterior site work will be addressed where impacted by the project.
A mechanical systems replacement of the existing unit ventilator units and associated piping system with new glycol equipment and piping.
Asbestos abatement will be included as required for the project.
The project shall be designed to meet all applicable Manitoba Hydro Power Smart Grant Incentives.
