The Corporation of the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex invites proposals for: Supply of all labour and equipment necessary for curbside collection of recyclables and solid waste, as detailed in the specification sheet. The Contract includes the curbside pickup of garbage and recyclables. The contract also includes for Downtown pickup of public cans in Glencoe 20, and 2 in Wardsville. Curbside garbage will be disposed of at the WM, Watford Twin Creeks facility with recyclables being delivered to a MRF located in Ontario, (Contractor to specify which MRF) and/or supply a cost to process recyclables for sale to end markets. Should the municipality choose to re-open Trillium landfill at a future date, all curbside waste from the municipality would be redirected to that site, immediately. Should the contractor bid on processing materials, the Contract will be based on the Municipality receiving a portion of revenue to be paid to the Municipality which shall not be less than 50%. The Municipality’s portion of revenues from the sales of any of the recyclable materials, sold in a given month, is to be sent directly to the Municipality on a monthly basis. Along with payments, the Contractor must provide the Municipality with the invoice statements from the end markets which indicates the date of the sale, price per tonne received by the Contractor for the materials and what portion of the material sold represents the Municipality’s share. Where quantities are shown in the document, they are not guaranteed to be accurate and are furnished without any liability on behalf of the Municipality. These tonnages provide a historical basis for comparison only, and are not a guarantee of future tonnages. The contractor will be required to provide for fluctuations in the volume of garbage and/or recyclables as a result of seasonal variations, development of new residences and otherwise, over the Contract period.
