The work to be done under this contract consists of the selected contractor(s) supplying all of the labour and equipment to perform all duties as quoted. The municipality will not be held responsible for any damage nor wear-and-tear on the equipment belonging to any contractor. As a result, we recommend each property be walked before each cut to locate any fallen branches or other items which could cause damage and/or injury if not removed before cutting/trimming. Any cost associated with checking the property before cutting must be included in your “per cut” pricing provided below. As well, the “per cut” rate will be the only reimbursement provided to the selected contractor(s), with any/all other costs at the expense of the contractor(s).
The municipality reserves the right to consider extending the contract for 2019 and again for 2020. If this is offered to the contractor it will include a rate increase based on the Consumer Price Index. A contract extension with revised rates would be provided to the contractor in the spring for their consideration to accept. Alternatively, the municipality may choose to request new bids for subsequent years.
