Description

This project involves the construction of a new K-6 Elementary School in the First Nation
community of South Tallcree, situated south of Fort Vermillion in Northern Alberta. The
school footprint is approximately 3,500 square meters on one storey with mezzanine spaces
and a separate mechanical outbuilding. In addition to classroom spaces, the project
includes a gymnasium, indoor running track, cafeteria with kitchen, library/information
technology centre, and a culture/music room. The scope of work also includes site
development of the school grounds, including playing fields and a parking lot. A
preliminary floor plan is provided for reference purposes only. The project is pursuing LEED
Gold Certification under USGBC LEED 2009 for Schools New Construction.
