McMaster University is issuing this Request for Supplier Qualifications (RFSQ) to identify and pre-qualify experienced and capable contractors for upcoming heritage window and door restoration projects across the University. The goal is to establish a roster of qualified suppliers who can be called upon for future projects involving the conservation and rehabilitation of original heritage windows and doors on campus. The scope of work may include, but is not limited to, the structural assessment of existing heritage windows and doors, repair or replication using period-appropriate materials and techniques, glazing and weatherproofing, and finishing and detailing to match original architectural features. Contractors with demonstrated expertise in heritage conservation and traditional restoration methods are encouraged to respond. Proponents with demonstrated expertise in heritage conservation, traditional carpentry and joinery, and compliance with conservation standards are encouraged to respond. Proponents are asked to demonstrate their qualifications and experience specific to window and door restoration. Submissions will be evaluated based on relevance, technical capability, and past performance in similar heritage projects. The term of this RFSQ (Heritage Contractors) is for three (3) years from the date of the award, with an option to be extended for two (2) additional one (1) plus one (1) year terms.
