NWT Solar - for Power Centers in remote research field location
Wilfrid Laurier University plans to award the following systems to NWT Solar barring any supplier who deems they can provide equipment of equal or better quality, performance and output within the time frame specified.
The system is the same as a unit already installed at trail Valley Creek. These systems will be at the remote site of Inuvik Research Center – Meteorological Center and the Main Camp. The units must be installed by August due to the weather conditions.
This is part of a CanNet research Grant.
Combined, the Met station power supply and Field camp power supply needs to include:
6 Kwh solar array
1.5kwh Wind turbine with replacement
7Kwh backup diesel generator with autostart
480 Ahr battery bank at 48v DC
propane heater
600 meter power supply cable
7' x 10' Insulated and heated containment unit
Installation of equipment, solar array, and electrical work be certified electrician
Includes required solar chargers, wiring to multiple tents, and power distribution centers
For Inuvik the following is included
Complete assembly, testing, disassembly of powerhouse pre-delivery. - All materials FOB Inuvik, client responsible for off load in Inuvik and delivery to site. - Complete assembly of system on site and camp interconnection. - Crew of 3 w/Certified Electrician one site for 2 days, Laurier responsible for travel from Inuvik to camp and accommodations at camp. - Laurier responsible for 30' of platform to attach 3kW solar array, 30' x 7' deck framing @ 16"OC
