Paul First Nation is seeking Requests for Prequalification (RFPQ) from General Contractors interested in prequalifying for the opportunity to bid on the K-9 School construction project in their community. Paul First Nation is located near Duffield, Alberta, approximately 65 km west of Edmonton.
The Project Management Team includes representatives of the Owner (Paul First Nation), the funding agency (Indigenous Services – formerly Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC)), the Third-Party Project Manager (Neegan Burnside Ltd.) and the Prime Design Consultant (The Workun Garrick Parternship Architecture and Interior Design Inc). The Project Management Team intends to prequalify a list of General Contractors with the relevant qualifications, experience and capacity necessary to undertake this project successfully.
Prequalified contractors will be invited to submit a Bid for this project. It is anticipated that the contract documents will be issued to prequalified contractors for tender in mid to late -January 2018.
In general, the scope of the project includes, but is not limited to the following work:
• Construction of a new K-9 School on the Paul First Nation Reserve, in the Province of AB.
• The project includes a new single story K-9 School with a total new construction area to be 3,571.75m2.
• Along with the New K-9 School with be site work that includes regrading of the site to suit the placement of the school, new road access, a parking lot and new sports fields.
• A new perimeter fence will be placed around the school site.
• Site work will also include provision of a new crossing from the existing roadway, culvert, regrading of the entire site and the removal of existing trees to suit the location of the New School and sports fields. Extension of new utilities from the school to the West boundary of the school site.
A site visit is not required during this prequalification process. Prequalified General Contractors who are invited to submit a bid will be required to attend a mandatory pre-bidder’s site meeting.

If a Bidder obtains the RFPQ by means other than through MERX, the accuracy of the document and the receipt of any addenda, if applicable, are not guaranteed.
Prequalification submissions must be received at the address indicated in the RFQ document no later than 2:00 P.M. (MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME (MST)) on MONDAY NOVEMBER 27th, 2017.
