Description

Within the Peace River Forest Area, firebases are strategically located to provide housing for seasonal staff, as well as providing pre-suppression of resources (helitack, unit and firetack crews) in a readiness position to respond to initial wildfire starts and support sustained action.

To ensure no interruptions to the Province’s wildfire suppression efforts, potable water delivery, and wastewater (sewage) removal are required on an “as-needed” basis with no guarantees of work to the following firebases:

•Haig Lake Primary Firebase;
•Chinchaga Primary Firebase;
•Manning Primary Firebase;
•Peace River Primary Firebase; and
•Hotchkiss Lookout/Day Base.
