DESCRIPTION OF WORK
.1 General Contractor to attend Construction Kick-Off Meeting prior to undertaking work.
.2 General Contractor and Supplier to co-ordinate supply, delivery, off-loading, storage,
installation and commissioning of equipment and materials.
.3 Description of discipline requirements are as listed, but limited to, the following Sections.
PROCESS MECHANICAL SUMMARY OF WORK
.1 Scanning and coring of two (2) holes for the vertical turbine pumps.
.2 Scanning and coring of two (2) holes for pressure relief valve drain and air vacuum valve
drain to reservoir.
.3 Supply and installation of two (2) vertical turbines pumps.
.4 Supply and installation of the piping required for the connection from the pump discharge
to the distribution header.
.1 Concrete splash pad will be required outside of pressure relief valve discharge
location.
.5 Supply and install all valves, and fittings, etc.
.6 Pressure testing, cleaning and disinfection of piping.
.7 Disinfection of the reservoir once all work has been completed prior to bringing the
reservoir on-line.
.8 Start-up and commissioning of process mechanical system.
ELECTRICAL SUMMARY OF WORK
.1 Supply, install, test, and commission electrical feed for new distribution pumps, including
new MCC expansion section with VFDs and all cables. Install cables in existing tray, and
install new supports as required when leaving tray.
INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS SUMMARY OF WORK
.1 Supply, install, test, and commission all new instrumentation as shown on Drawings and
Datasheets. Verify the height of the existing low-low-level float switch (LSL-202) is set
to 700 mm above reservoir floor, adjust as required.
.2 Supply, install, test, and commission new PLC I/O card, as indicated on Drawings,
including all required accessories.
.3 Supply, install, test, and commission instrument and controls cables. Instrumentation and
VFDs to be wired, as shown on Instrumentation Drawings and Piping & Instrumentation
Drawings (P&IDs). Install cables in existing tray, and install new supports, as required,
when leaving tray.
.4 Programming of PLC and HMI to requirements of Control Philosophy in Section
40 61 60 for control of monitoring of new distribution pumping system:
.1 Program the Local PLC (CompactLogix) and HMI (Red Lion Graphite).
.2 Owner to provide existing PLC and HMI programs. Contractor responsible for
any programming licenses required.
.3 Created new process overview screen for Distribution System. Integrate into
existing overview, alarms, trends, and setpoints screens.
.4 Provide complete tag list upon completion for Owner integration into SCADA
system.
