2021-24 - 100 Avenue Curb Extensions

The Town of Morinville is inviting proposals from qualified contractors to install curb extensions at four locations along 100 Avenue:
• 100 Street and 101 Avenue
• 102 Street and 100 Avenue
• 104 Street and 100 Avenue
• 107 Street and 100 Avenue
100 Avenue (Highway 642) is the main east/west corridor through the community and is the anchor to the Coeur De Morinville area. The curb extensions will improve pedestrian safety, increase driver awareness and clearly delineate parking areas in front of numerous business along Morinville’s major roadways. The safety benefits also include a reduction in the roadway crossing distance for pedestrians and greater visibility for pedestrians around parked vehicles before crossing.

The Work in this Contract includes the supply of all labour, materials, and equipment required to construct curb ramps at 100 Avenue and 107 Street, 100 Avenue and 104 Street, 100 Avenue and 102 Street, and 101 Avenue and 100 Street. This project includes various construction activities involving pre-cast slab-on islands, concrete replacement, and miscellaneous items.
The project includes, but is not limited to, the following work:
• Removal of existing concrete.
• Minor earthworks associated with the sidewalk removals
• Slab-on island construction including rebar reinforcement and concrete.
• Concrete works including walk, curb & gutter, and curb ramps.
• Adjustment of a catch basin.
• Minor signage.
• Traffic accommodation

KEY MILESTONE DATES
• The Work site shall be available for mobilization on or about September 6, 2021.
• Substantial Completion of the Work for the 100 Avenue Curb Extensions shall be achieved no later than October 15, 2021. This date shall be defined as the Contract Completion Date.
• The Warranty Period for this Contract is 2 years.
