Description

Lethbridge County is seeking an appropriate and qualified consultant to provide the County with engineering services for the Design, Contractor Procurement, Material Fabric Inspection, Construction Supervision, Contract Administration, Post Construction and Warranty Inspection Services for a Bridge File replacement within the County.

Bridge File #79601 is situated 8 kilometers north of the Town of Coaldale on Range Road 20-3. Constructed in 1974, this single span bridge crosses the SMRID irrigation canal. During the 2023 inspection, deficiencies were identified, including wide cracks and spalls in the anchorage zone, with exposed reinforcing steel. As a result, the bridge received a rating of '3' and an overall condition rating of 33.3.

Ideally, this bridge should be replaced with a standard CSP culvert capable of accommodating the increased flows and hydraulic demands associated with the irrigation canal.
