The scope of the Area Structure Plan review project is primarily concerning the Bragg Creek Hamlet Growth Area as defined by the Calgary Metropolitan Region Growth Plan (although other amendments within the Great Bragg Creek Area Structure Plan may be considered where necessary). The objectives of the ASP review project area summarized as follows:
• To create a land use strategy for the Bragg Creek Hamlet Growth area (Hamlet Core plus Hamlet Expansion).
• To identify, protect, and enhance natural and environmental features and systems.
• To identify opportunities for economic development and facilitate growth, while preserving desirable aspects of the existing community.
• To determine water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation servicing needs and strategies.
• To identify opportunities for recreation facilities, infrastructure, and programming.
• An ASP that is driven by public input, and prioritizes the strength of the community.

The primary overarching aim of the project is to ensure that the public interest is represented in the final Area Structure Plan. With this in mind, the initial phase of the project consists primarily of the work of a Visioning Committee. This Committee will be made up of members who have a variety of interests in the community:
• Two members representing local business interests
• Two members representing local environmental interests
• Two members that hold an interest in local recreation or community services
• Two members with a general interest in the community, whose permanent residence is in the Hamlet of Bragg Creek.
