Description

Notice is hereby given that Provincial Health Services Authority (the “Health Authority”), acting on their own behalf, intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Building Automation System (BAS) services for the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system at the Vancouver BC Cancer facility for a term of one (1) year at an estimated value of $79,861.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements PHSA has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:

To ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative.
Rationale
Johnson Controls is the original equipment manufacturer representative and warranty holder for the HVAC systems at this Health Authority facility. Only Johnson Controls are authorized to provide service and warranty work for this equipment. Any servicing not completed by this approved vendor may void the warranty for this equipment.

Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Ivan Kalynych, Buyer by email before 2:00pm Pacific Time, April 04. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
