23-24-1379 - Student Residence Internet and Cable TV Service Provider

NOTE: MANDATORY SITE VISIT RESCHEDULED FOR APRIL 11, 2024

MacEwan University is seeking a service provider who can provide dedicated, secure and reliable wired, wireless and cable TV infrastructure and services (“Goods and Services”) to MacEwan University’s Residence building and if applicable, transition from the current service model to the new service model. The wireless service must support the latest technology with the ability to handle high throughput.
The Goods and Services shall include all labour, equipment and services necessary to complete the provision of the following (which are further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”):
1. Redundant fiber fed Internet Gateways for 920 rooms/ ports
• 1 for primary and 1 for backup, 1000 Mbps Access

2. Wi-Fi Access to the Internet for 920 rooms/ports
• 1 SSID using 802.1x RADIUS authentication for Student Residents
• 1 SSID using a Pre Shared Key for Property Guests

3. Wired Ethernet Access to the Internet+
• 1 Wired Ethernet port in each bedroom (862 bedrooms)
• 1 Wired Ethernet port in each lounge (25 lounges)

4. Cloud based Dashboard Portal access with administrative privileges.

5. Cable TV Services

Cable TV will only be for the Residence building’s first-floor hotel suites, lobby TV, games room TV and theatre room (a total of 19 TVs).
