NOI 015-24 - Notice of Intent to Direct Award-Solar Street Lights

Notice is hereby given by the City of Port Alberni (CPA) of its intent to contract with Sol by Sunna Design for the purchase of Solar Street Lights to provide an exact match with existing lighting for the Connect the Quays Pathway. Vendor: Sol by Sunna Design Goods provided: To Purchase and Deliver: • 66 Solar Street Lights with fixtures and motion sensors Value: The value of the contract to be awarded is expected to be $279,595.80 for fixtures, poles and shipping and exclusive of applicable taxes and brokerage fees Rationale: The expansion of the Connect the Quays pathway in the City of Port Alberni requires additional solar street lights that will be identical to the existing pathway lighting and its functionality. The City of Port Alberni believes this is the only vendor that can supply these specific fixtures that meet the criteria listed below. Challenges to this proposed direct award shall clearly establish how the respondent is able to meet the criteria below for the 66 units: • UP2 solar street light with motion sensor, light profile L-X, casing colour Dark bronze RAL8019-X • Un-MR fixture for UP2 and UP4 Dual, 4000K, with motion sensor, casing colour dark bronze RAL8019-X • Square, steel, bolt-down pole, 20ft, finished RAL8019 • On-site delivery time to be no more than 11 weeks from order date Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection to the attention of Kelly DeClercq by email to purchasing@portalberni.ca prior to 2:00 pm local time on May 10, 2024. No challenges will be accepted after this time. Any written objection shall provide the reasons and ability for the challenge.
