The successful bidder will be responsible for the harvesting 3643m3 of crown timber within the thirty-three-point six hectare (33.6ha) block MSAWX associated with TA1708 (TSL) under the cutting authority of TA2910 FLTC, which is located approximately 21km (25min) from 100 Mile House, in the Big Lake area, accessed via Helena Lake Road at 8.6km. This will include low bedding, mobilizing, and demobilizing equipment to and from the work site, constructing roads associated with the Forest License to Cut (FLTC) TA2910, felling designated timber, skidding and decking the timber, and ensuring conformance with EMS, SFM, and safety commitments through all phases of the contract.
Deliverables will be predominantly field based; completing the plan in Silviculture Unit (SU) A (all of SU A is within a Mule Deer Winter Range (MDWR) exemption area) by achieving target reserve tree retention, creating wildlife habitat piles, and leaving sufficient coarse woody debris (CWD), while removing target timber from the site. Office deliverables will include recording and submitting daily production (hectares or meters) and hours, and two contractor self inspections per month. A field day is based on an average of 10 hours including travel and an office day is based on an average of 8 hours not including travel. The marshalling point for this contract is the Service BC Service Centre, 300 South HWY 97, One Hundred Mile House, BC V0K 2E0.
