Notice of Planned Procurement (NPP)
This Notice of Planned Procurement is issued by Service New Brunswick ("SNB") on behalf of Service New Brunwick to advise potential suppliers that Service New Brunswick plans to conduct a procurement process as described below. Submissions/responses to this NPP are not sought or required.
This NPP is intended to provide an advanced notice to potential suppliers of an upcoming procurement opportunity and is not intended to be a formal legally binding "Contract A" bidding process. It does not constitute an invitation to tender or a commitment to tender or create any obligation for Service New Brunswick to proceed with the procurement. All procurement activities will be conducted in accordance with the Procurement Act and Regulations and applicable trade agreements and policies.
Solicitation documents for this future solicitation will be posted on NBON and submissions will be accepted in English or French.
- NPP Title: Managed Detection and Response
- Description of goods, services, or construction services to be purchased in a future procurement process: SNB will be looking to establish a relationship with a qualified Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) to provide 24/7 Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services that provide proactive monitoring, detection, and response to threats across an GNB's IT environment. SNB will work with the successful vendor to integrate GNB's existing security tools (SIEM, Endpoint Protection, etc) and
examine options to replace existing solutions where advantageous. The proposed solution must focus on adding value through automation-driven threat detection and incident response, strengthening GNB's security operations and enabling rapid, continuous containment of threats around the clock.
In the next few weeks, SNB will release an RFQ, to qualify up to three vendors to participate in a best and final offer (BAFO) procurement process. The RFQ will provide vendors with a set of mandatory requirements and several questions that will be assessed to select the three high scoring proponents.
These three proponents will be invited to respond to a formal RFP and participate in the process to determine the best fit with GNB's requirements.
- Anticipated issue date for posting the solicitation notice on NBON: August 2025
- Anticipated procurement method: RFP-BAFO (negotiated request for proposals, best and final offer)
