Contractors are invited to bid on a tender for forest road deactivation and logging debris piling for burning (burning not included in contract). The contract will ask for different machine rates for work in the Terrace Operating Area and the Nass Operating Area, mainly north of the Cranberry River. Terrace Areas include but are not limited too – Big Cedar, Kitnayakwa/Limonite, Skeena West, Hirsh. Nass Areas include but are not limited too – Orenda, Arbour/Harper, Vandyke. The contractor must supply equipment and operators experienced with deactivation works. Techniques required will include (but are not limited to) water bars, cross ditches, stream culvert removals, wood box culvert removals, and debris piling. There will be NO bridge deactivations associated with this contract. The contractor will be required to deactivate roads following the instructions of site-specific plans, the Forest Range and Practices Act (FRPA), the Ministry of Forests Engineering Manual and the specifications contained in the schedules and appendices of the contract. The Contractor must be flexible and adaptable to a changing schedule.
