AB-2025-07665 - Consulting and Training Services

The Métis Nation of Alberta will provide Indigenous culturally appropriate training services, Métis centred, for the CFS Workforce Development (WFD) team within Regulatory Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Business Supports (RCQABS). This contract is expected to be no more than $50,000 over a three-year term. Within this timeline and budget, MNA will provide:

1. Updates and program development enhancements to the Working with Indigenous Children Families and Communities three-day blended delegation training course involving inclusion and immersion of Métis and Indigenous specific content. It will be collaboratively updated with WFD Child Intervention Division (CID) blended delegation trainers, MNA, and CID working groups that also incorporate updates to CFS policies and practices:
a. Co-facilitation services (including review and preparation time) of up to ten (10) three-day training sessions of the Working with Indigenous Children Families and Communities course provided for an audience of Child Intervention Practitioners;
b. Inclusion and participation of Métis Elders for all 10 three-day training sessions;
c. Full use of MNA’s facilities, meeting rooms, utilities and training facilities for the duration of all three-day training courses including but not limited to: Métis cultural resources and spaces; room preparation including training supplies and materials; and food preparation of snacks.

2. Content review services for existing Walking Together three-hour course, ensuring updates to content and materials are in alignment with existing Caregiver curriculum training. Content to also reflect and incorporate current Children and Family Services (CFS) policies and practices for an audience of Foster, Kinship and Permanency Caregivers:
a. Métis Elder led discussion for inclusion of cultural and historical specific content related to storytelling and circle work capturing and reflecting lived experiences;
b. Additional anticipated services include, but are not limited to:
i. Review and edits to course learning objectives
ii. Review and edits to course content
iii. Attendance and participation in CID working group meetings with WFD, CID blended delegation trainers and MNA; and
iv. Discussion of potential future creation and development of extended Walking Together (part 2) three-hour course with discussion-based content. Capturing, including and immersing Métis specific content collaboratively updated with WFD Child Intervention Division (CID) delegation trainers, MNA, and CID working groups.
