Notice is hereby given that Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through their agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide one (1) ExactVu Micro-Ultrasound Imaging System with EV29L Transducer and post warranty service for Lions Gate Hospital for a term of five (5) years at an estimated value of $525,700 CAD plus applicable taxes.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:
(a)
due to an absence of competition for technical reasons
The ExactVu Micro-Ultrasound System is the only commercially available ultrasound system that offers both high-frequency and conventional ultrasound modes, operating at 29 MHz and providing resolution down to 70μ, making it suitable for prostate biopsies. It delivers high-resolution, real-time imaging that helps physicians to detect and target prostate cancer more accurately, reduce the need for MRI, speed up diagnosis, and allow targeted biopsies in a single visit. Exact Imaging is the sole distributor and manufacturer for this equipment and technology in the Canadian market.
Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Austy Joseph, Buyer by email before 12:00pm Pacific Time, January 19, 2026. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
